The Card Player Poker Tour is already underway but now the details for the main event have been revealed. The Venetian $2 Million Guaranteed Main Event main event for the CPPT will take place from July 16th through the 20th. The series will feature a total of 136 tournaments and more than $24 million in guaranteed prize pools, culminating with the main event.
The CPPT Venetian $2 Million Guaranteed Main Event has consistently been the largest event on the tour over the last three years. The tournament will begin with a $5K buy-in and have no limits. The players that enter this event will begin with 25,000 chips and will play hour-long levels on Day One, 75-minute levels on Day 2 and then 30-minute levels by the time that they reach heads-up play for the title.
Over the last four years, this tournament has been dominated by players that ranked in the Top 10 on the tour’s all-time earnings list. The list of winners includes three-time World Poker Tour winner and World Series of Poker bracelet holder Anthony Zinno. Zinno, who was the 2015 Card Player Player of the Year award winner, took home $466,670 after prevailing in a field of 547 entries. All eyes will be on this year’s Venetian $2 Million Guaranteed Main Event to see if the trend of big name players continues to dominate.
