There are more changes coming to the Las Vegas hotels but this news is about one that’s just off The Strip. The Hooters Hotel is about to undergo a sizable transformation, including a name-change.
The Hooters Hotel in Las Vegas will become the OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas by the end of the year following the sale of the property. According to a press release, work on the transformation of the hotel is expected to start in September with officials projecting the makeover will be complete by the start of 2020.
The truth is that the Hooters Hotel had become a faded property in Las Vegas. It has mostly been a forgotten spot, looking dated and dusty. Also, with the progressive culture was not a big fan of the place that they somewhat view as objectifying women. The location isn’t too bad as it’s still near The Strip, though, which is why OYO saw the value.
One of the last value-oriented properties near the Las Vegas strip, there has been a lot of talk about the optimism surrounding the OYO launch once the space is ready. This will be OYOs first “key flagship property” in Las Vegas. OYO, which began operations in 2013, has claimed to be the fastest growing hotel chain in the world. They now have built up a collection of more than 112 hotels in more than 21 states just six years after the company launched.
OYO is already the sixth-largest chain of hotels homes, managed living and work spaces in the world according to its website. Despite changing the name among other things throughout the building, the Hooters restaurant will remain relatively unchanged within the unit. It has also been confirmed that OYO will not have to obtain a Nevada gaming license. The renovations throughout the rest of the hotel are expected to be extensive with a full list of new amenities and features installed throughout the brand new OYO Hotel & Casino.
