English Premier League To Return On June 17th; Liverpool Heavily Favored

EPL, Serie A slated to return in mid-June.

It’s been a good week in the world of soccer. We’ve watched some entertaining Bundesliga matchups, saw that the Italian Serie A will resume in June and now have the good news that the English Premier League is back on June 17th.

Of course, as with all major sports these days, safety precautions will have to be put in place to make sure that the players and team members are safe. Stadiums will be empty for the time being as fans won’t be allowed in.

Manchester City, Sheffield United Favored Upon Return

The EPL will return with a pair of games on Wednesday, June 17th and they will feature the four teams who have played just 28 games this season. Every other team in the EPL has played 29, so it’s important for these four to get back on schedule. The betting lines have already been posted for the early contest and here’s what we’re looking at:

Manchester City -267

Arsenal +538

Draw +384

Aston Villa +167

Sheffield United +143

Draw +221

The rest of the teams will be back in action on June 19th-21st.

Vardy Favored To Be Leading Goal Scorer, Norwich Favored For Relegation

The odds to win the league appear to be a foregone conclusion as Liverpool has such a massive lead. They are currently holding a 25-point lead over second-place Manchester City but we have just nine games left in the season (Man City has 10). It would be one of the most epic collapses if they blew this.

Meanwhile, Jamie Vardy is favored to finish as the league’s top goalscorer. He currently has 19 goals, which is two more than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero are in third with 16 goals apiece.

As for relegation, Norwich is clearly favored to not only be relegated but finished last in the EPL. They are currently dead-last in the standings table but had won two of their final three games before the hiatus. We’ll see if they can keep that up and dig themselves out of a hole.
